Dug in Puerto: Is that the offshore?

It is 22:01 and the offshores have been blasting since 20min ago when Ian "Mettie" Metcalf blurted out from the comfort of the hammock on the patio of our Puerto crib. I've been here for 2.5 weeks and to finally feel the offshore, 8hrs after I contemplated jumping on the bus to get out of this crazy, mad wonderful place is just super!! Yesterday's stupidity brought me to that idea.

Sitting here feeling the cool offshore and the smell of summer rain in the air reminds me of home, in Durban at my parents when the summer low pressure moves up the Natal coast. At sunset 8ft-10ft A-frame peaks were realing and splurting 'cause of the lightest of onshores.

Just after lunch yesterday out in the water boogying I twisted my left knee after attempting a back flip off a backwash. Not been able to walk last night and after hours of icing my knee I was convinced to bail onto a mad 15hr bus ride. In the arvo today I took a stroll to my neighbour Rusty to ask him to give me a lift to the bus but ended up having to leave a note. Just after 5pm Rusty appeared shirtless, baggies and a pair of slops at my door to take me to the bus. I had changed my mind because my leg was feeling alot better and promptly apologised.

Right now I could have been sitting in a bus winding for hrs back to Puebla on slippery mad roads. So it's time I hit the sack because I gotto shoot tomorrow from the beach, which for me is frustrating being so far from the action. I posted a 4th shot on the first update to give you all an idea of the waves from the first swell. Which was pretty much the size of each set today so tomorrow will be "epic" with this 15 knot offshore blowing all night.
