Pink WAS the new black, the coiled arm leash had yet to be invented, handles/straps were thankfully dying out and contest vests were exactly that - "vests".
Thanks to Len from Reef for submitting this shot which he got off Bobby Rossouw.
Anyone recognise who these guys are and take a stab at what year this was? Clue - two of these guys were 2006 SA Champions.

Ahhhh, CLASSIC!! What a treasured shot! If it wasn't for the pink boards, I would have guessed 70's, but then wetsuits are not quite as bright, hey!?!? Interersting how pink boards have come full circle as of last year--being in vogue here---still waitng on the colorfull wetsuits to make a comeback! Hahahah!!

Yellow board is Jaques van Heerden (RIP) the first SA booger to earn respect of the the North Shore locals, on the right looks like Mike, doesnt look like frank stolberg is amonst them, but i would hassard a guess at per lostraf, nigel tarboton. Ya dig the vintage stuff. Who rembers the corkscew (this was before the el rollo was invented)
