South Coast FeverX Games 11-19 Dec 2010

Anytime Holidays Bodyboarding Showdown

This is it!! All the details you have been waiting for surrounding the greatly anticipated bodyboarding event that has had everyone frothing. The event will be called The Anytime Holidays Bodyboarding Showdown and will run in conjunction with The South Coast FeverX Games from 11 to 19 December which will be showcasing numerous extreme sports throughout the duration of the festival. There will be a massive marquee which will serve as the headquarters of the festival where the public and participants can view all the various extreme sports, interesting stalls and details of where the events are taking place as well as replays of the day’s action on big screens around the venue. There is an awesome line up of entertainment, with live bands such as Prime Circle, John Ellis (Tree 63), City Bowl Misers, Tidal Waves, Gazelle and there are still more to be confirmed. Don’t forget the MMA Fight Force Evening that is sure to draw a crowd.

The Anytime Holidays Bodyboarding Showdown is set to take place from 13th - 17th December. A generous window period has been allowed to ensure the most hard-core waves possible are ridden for this exciting event. The briefing will be a secret venue and will take place on 12 December. The contest format has also changed from the norm and will allow each entrant to ride twice with their two scores added together. Only the top 8 riders will proceed to the semi-finals. First place gets a whopping R10 000 and prize money will be awarded up to 4th place. The contest venue will also be a secret only being announced to the riders on the morning the green light is given. The contest area covers numerous reef breaks from Scottburgh to Port Edward and entries have been limited so the event can run in a single day, if conditions allow. The judging criteria is simple, only Xtreme maneuvers such as air roll spins, inverts, back flips and air spins will be getting the judges attention. The contestant who completes these high risk maneuvers on the biggest and best wave with the most speed and control will get the glory. Spins and rolls will score you nothing! Prize giving will be a gala evening affair on the final night of the festival on 19th December where all the disciplines will receive their awards.

Entry forms will be made available on www.feverx.co.za and www.sixty40.co.za on Wednesday 3 November and there will only be a limited amount of entries allowed. The entry fee is R500 and will get you a shot at the R10 000 1st prize, a contest shirt, access to 9 days of festival and parties and not to mention bragging rights. Entries close 7 December 2010.

A wide variety of Great Value for Money and High Quality Self-Catering Accommodation will be available through Anytime Holidays. Call 0861 ANYTIME ( 0861 269 846) or visit www.anytimeholidays.co.za for all your accommodation needs, as they have a great selection of accommodation across the South Coast region of KZN for you to choose from.
