Get Ready To Rumble.... Solid waves forecasted for trials

The Emerald Surf City Brett Young Memorial Trials > 4th - 5th of July

Attention all bodyboarders wishing to compete in an event with 'POWER'. This year's Emerald Surf City Brett Young Memorial Trials looks set to get underway this Sunday (5th July) with swell forecasts predicting a solid 2-3m South swell to rumble the N.S.W East Coast.

On hand will be some of the world's most talented bodyboarders fighting their way through a maximum of four heats to reach the final and a spot into The 2009 Nomad Shark Island Challenge. The lucky four competitors who place 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th will meet up with the 16 invited bodyboarders for their chance at the $10,000 'Winner Takes All' format.

Limited Edition Fins will be hosting the official webcast for the Nomad Shark Island Challenge. The broadcasting of the event will include webcasts of both the Emerald Surf City Brett Young Memorial Trials (mentioned above) and the main event, which will be held on the best day of surf between the 7th -27th of July.

To keep up-to-date with all the news regarding the event you can also join the Limited Edition Twitter alerts or the Riptide Twitter. They'll have constant updates right up to the event, they'll give you an alert the day the SIC will happen so you can either get to Cronulla to watch it or view it on the webcast and the Twitter will also provide live heat commentary during the event. Riders still wishing to enter The Emerald Surf City Brett Young Memorial Trials: The event has been capped at 48 riders to ensure that the trials are completed in one day. There are a few position still available - for all enquires please email [email protected] - Entries can be downloaded from the Riptide Magazine or Limited Edition or Sixty40 websites.

Remember - here is the deal:

a) If you are not contracted by the IBA - you are more than welcome to compete.
b) If you haven't signed an IBA contract but are competing on the IBA world Tour, you are more than welcome to compete.
c) If you are contracted and you are not planning on entering any more IBA event you are more than welcome to compete.
d) If you are contracted and want to enter regardless, guess what - you are more than welcome as well...
e) Please note: I understand that the IBAA have scheduled events during the SIC waiting period- so - for those non contracted BBA competitors not competing in The Soldiers Beach Pro '09, that's right- you are also welcome to compete.

The Nomad Shark Island Challenge - Emerald Surf City In Store Promo

Emerald Surf City will be having a huge in-store meet and greet with all the competitors in this year's Shark Island Challenge on Monday the 6th of July from 4-6pm. It's a great opportunity to meet many of your favourite pros and get them to sign your board or a poster. Emerald Surf City is located opposite the railway station at 130 Cronulla St. They're also going to have a massive sale with no board in the shop over $300, so everyone's a winner!
