Earn a trip to Indo

posted by Kelly Footit on 22nd January 2004

Help promote bodyboarding in Western Province and earn a trip to Indonesia, one of the top destinations on any bodyboarders wish list. Renowned as the land of perfect lefts, the prize includes flights and 5 nights accommodation in Bali, home of Uluwatu, Padang Padang & Bingin three of Indo’s most famous breaks. And with prices making Indo an affordable destination for South Africans you’d probably want to stay for a month and take in some of breaks off of the neighbouring islands such as Desert Point (Lombok), Super Suck, Scar Reef, Lakey Peak, Persiscopes (Sumbawa) or the notorious G-Land (Java) if you’re willing to splash out on a surf camp.

The challenge is open to all Western Province members, aged 18 or over (on the commencement of the trip) and is being sponsored by an individual who has taken an interest in the plight of the sport in the region. The promotion is being run through WPBA as the governing body in the region, however, this individual who wishes to remain nameless, is independent of WPBA and will adjudicate as such.

The prize will be awarded to the entrant deemed to have done the most for bodyboarding in the period 1st February to 31st July 2004, based on monthly reports submitted by each entrant throughout this period.

Rules of Engagement
  1. You have to be a registered member of Western Province Bodyboarding Association
  2. You have to be 18 years or older by the commencement of your trip, which must be used during the period 01 August 2004 and 30 June 2005

  4. You will have to submit a report once a month no later than 25th of each month to [email protected] detailing your involvement in the sport for that specific month.

  6. No event where you have been re-numerated will be considered all good deeds must be for the love of the sport.
  7. Introducing new sponsors to the sport will be considered.
  8. Judging will be done independently of WPBA in order to ensure a fair and unbiased decision. However, should the need arise, facts will be verified by the WPBA committee.
  9. You are encouraged to enter under a pseudonym.
  10. Judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entertained.
  11. The winner will be announced at the WPBA prize giving and will be called out under his/her pseudonym. You will have to be present at the prize giving to verify yourself.
  12. Good luck.
