Durban Beachfront upgrade - public meeting this Thursday

posted on 20th January 2009

open

There is an open meeting this Thursday where proposed changes to the Durban beachfront (as part of the upgrade for 2010) will be up for public scrutiny.

The plans include changes to Addington, New Pier, Dairy and Snake Park beaches/promenades as well as the redevelopment of sites such as the Ocean Sports Complex and Mini Town.

As surfers it's important that we have a visible presence at this meeting where environmental and social impacts of the changes will be presented. It's also an opportunity for the surfing community to express its views on the proposals, ask questions and be included in the process.

DATE: 22 January 2009 (this Thursday)
TIME: 5pm-7pm
VENUE: Blue Waters Hotel, 175 Snell Parade

Forward this to your surfing mates or those that regularly use the beachfront, it's important that we know what's happening with plans for Durban and that our input is taken seriously.

Look forward to seeing you there.

Cheers,
