The IBA WQT and WWT World Tour Events concluded at Praia Grande with Manuel Centeno from Portugal taking out the Men's Division and Neymara Carvalho from Brazil the Women's Division. They won $6000US and $4000US respectively.

Conditions for the final day were small in comparison with the 2m swell that blessed the middle days of the competition which resulted in some outstanding riding from the local riders as well as the many International Competitors.

In the World Women's Tour (WWT) Division, once again the standard was exceptional with some huge rolls and ARS's from many of the competitors as they fought for the final 8 slots. Top 16 riders Neymara Carvalho, Mito Okawara, Kira Llewellyn and Heloise Bourroux were joined in the 1/4 finals by four Brazilian girls who had returned to International Competition after an absence of a few years. In the previous rounds, stand-outs were 15 year old Joana Schenker from Germany, Marina Taylor from Canary Islands, local rider Rita Pires and Eunate Aguirre from Spain.

The final of World Women Tour event (WWT) Sintra Portugal Pro came down to the two Brazilians, Neymara Carvalho and Mayla Venturin; Carvalho, the defending champion used her advantage of experience and skill, easily beating her fellow Brazilian competitor, taking home the $4,000 USD first prize winners cheque.

With the absence of current IBA World Women’s Champion Stephanie Petterson, Leila Alli, Soraia Rocha, Daniela Freitas-Ronquilio and Karla Costa Taylor, all mostly due to a lack of strong sponsorship funds, the event left the doors wide open for Carvalho.

Neymara Carvalho is now leading the IBA World Women’s tour (WWT).

Australian Kira Llewellyn took out equal third. The competition for the last 16 competitors was surfed as a "one on one" format. Kira missed out on a finals berth by 0.1 of a point in her semi to Mayla Venturin of Brazil. This result places Kira in third position overall.
