Movement Mag hits SA Shores

posted by Kelly Footit on 29th April 2006

The first issue of Movement Magazine's international edition is about to hit South African shores so make sure you get your filthy paws on a copy when it does hit. Even better still, get yourself a subscription and you could stand to qualify for a free DVD which is being included with the first 300 subscriptions received.

South Africa has long been without an international mag to keep us up to date with what's going on and who is who in the bodyboarding world, one of the points mentioned by Jason Boddy when I called to discuss this latest venture of his, "In my first season in Hawaii I arrived and knew who all the pros were but this season we had guys like Daniel Worsley, out for his first season, sitting right next to some pro riders and not having a clue who they were." Maybe Daniel is not bothered about the competition but the fact remains that we haven't had an international mag around for a while and we don't get exposure to these foreign professionals.

Jason's aim is for the mag to help generate money for the sport and will be giving back a percentage from each issue. Already he has backed this up by using pre-sale profits from the first issue to sponsor the Cave Rock Gladiator Pit contest which was a huge success.

The first issue will not be available from the CNA's etc so make sure you either get your subscriptions in or you can pick up a copy at www.factory7.co.za when they arrive. Also try subscribe or buy from Factory 7 in future too as any sales through these means will mean more money going back to bodyboarding.

These guys supported us with the Cave Rock so please support them and make sure your buddies do too and while you're at it make sure you've got a subscription from Logic mag - Movement is going to be a great compliment to our local mag and both need to be supported.

The first issue will be on sale at Factory 7 for R30 (excl postage) and we'll let you know when the stock arrives. Subscriptions are R180 for 6 copies and R360 for 12 copies which can be purchased online through www.movementmag.co.za.
