Kokkerot delivers for Boland's Fourth Trial

Arriving at Kokkerot, a well-known right hander, on 7th of May for Boland's fourth trial our hopes were high as a large clean ground swell had been predicted and the ocean didn't disappoint. Combining with a light North Westerly, the conditions were perfect. Earlier spot checks had been made at Betties and Koggelbay, however, they were all closeouts and definitely a no go.

Kokkerot seemed to be quite small when we went in for a free surf, but jacked up the moment the heats started. It was the classic trial with everyone battling for their positions and when the finals came were you could clearly see that these guys knew what they are doing.

In the Ladies division Shanè Kirsten claimed first place by landing a roll. Matthew Webster claimed the Boys Division with a sick forward spin (he can teach Ian Kruger a lesson). As the DK final paddled out the waves took on more shape. Alex Delle Denne paddled into a sweet one and let loose with two sick sprays but it was Paul Morkel's barrel ride that earned him first place.

Riaan du Preez and Alan went to take on the bigger ones at Kakkerlak which was 5 foot and firing and the guys looked to be in their element.

Meanwhile back at Kokkerot the swell had been picking up too and the riders in the Pro Final were getting barrelled off their nuts but it was Werner Adendorff who took it to the next level and launched the hottest ARS, claiming himself an obvious first place.

Peter Lambert and his crew were there filming for their upcoming Lines of Fire DVD and he took some sick footage.
