SOUTHERN CAPE TRIALS 3 & 4
VENUE: THE WEDGE, PLETTENBERG BAY
30 April & 1 May

TRIAL #3

Average conditions greeted the riders for the 3rd trial. The waves were small and messy. It improved slightly as the day progressed. There was still some good riding to be seen. Riders that impressed were, Wedge locals Juandre Vosloo and Wayne Raymond in the junior division and Sampi Kamffer in the pro division. Vaughn Harris and Gavin Botha also surfed well. The dropknee division was pretty uneventful due to the small waves.

TRIAL #4

Conditions cleaned up for th 4th trial. It was still small, but the waves were wedging more than the day before. The wedge locals owned most of their heats again. Francois de Kock surfed flawlessly throughout the trial in the junior division. Adam Morley and Warren Samuels also surfed well in the juniors. The pro’s final was contested between Vaughn, Sampi, Gavin and Wesley Holm. Few waves came through and looked like a close battle.

The results for all the finals of all the trials will only be announced after the 5 trials have been completed. It should be a close race in some of the divisions.

The next trial is at Outerpool in Mossel Bay on the last weekend of May. Contact Pat Harris on 082 973 2096 for information.
