| 63 | 25 Oct 2004 | John Diamond | Whangarei | New Zealand | Please recognise that all sports need to be recognised and have a place that will test their courage and purpose. Pipe is one of these special places and bodyboarding needs it. I ask you to reconsider your decision. Thank you. |

| 58 | 24 Oct 2004 | DEREK HULME | SYDNEY | Australia | I have been involved with the Pipe competition since the first year.It has grown to be one of the most prestigious big-wave bodyboard competitions in the world Pipe is a wave which provides the opportunity for riders from all corners of the globe to come tgether to show their ability in this challenging wave.I know some riders personally from places like Peru and Panama for example who for many years have saved money just to come and be part of this event. For some it is their lifelong dream to compete at Pipe. For the talented local riders it is the opportunity to compete against all the best riders from around the world. |
| 57 | 24 Oct 2004 | Scott Tilbury | Florida | United States | This is a major part of bodyboarding as a sport and to deny the athletes their competition will be a mojor blow to the bodyboarding community. |

| 48 | 24 Oct 2004 | Claudia Ferrari | | United States | With so many standing up surfing contests on The North Shore, a women bodyboarding & surfing event, a bodysurfing contest , it is not fair not having one men bodyboarding event to gather all the best bodyboarders in the world to decide who is the world champion for this year ranking. It has been happenning yearly for over twenty years and it is the highlight of the year on the sport scene.
It sounds like a discrimination to me.

| 45 | 24 Oct 2004 | Flavio Brito | Rio de Janeiro | Brazil | We need the Pipe contest !!! |
| 44 | 24 Oct 2004 | Driaan Cloete | London | United Kingdom | It is a real shame that this has happened. The yearly Pipe Contest has and is where the bench mark for bodyboarding has been set for several years and to loose this will be a true shame. People all over the world enjoy and love the ocean and the people who are put in charge of events and locations should take this into consideration. The ocean is there for every one to enjoy and no one should be given priority because of the popularity, amount of sponsors or television coverage.
I for one know that watching videos of Bodyboarding and even surfing and thinking, wow one day I would like to be one of the people surfing this spot and making a name for myself and be able to influence other young kinds the way people like Mike Stewart ,Kainoa Mcgee did. All of these people and many more have made a future for them selves because they love the sport, the love the ocean, and they love what they are doing. Most of all they had a massive influence on all young and old, surfing or bodyboarding. This break is such a big part of bodyboarding’s culture and history it would be a real shame to see all of the hard work done by the people in the late 80’s and 90’s go to waste.
The pipe contest is by far the most prestige’s event and by winning this event you become part of the legend called bodyboarding. It is the contest of contest and it should stay that way.
