Wedge Classic is On

posted by Iain Campbell on 11th June 2014

It's less than a month to go till the penultimate contest on the SABA tour for 2014, Plett's Wedge Classic. Plettenberg Bay boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in the world and, with the Wedge offering bodyboarders the ultimate wedging shorebreak and fast barrels, it's clear to see why they flock back year after year. The beach will turn into a state of eagerness as we crown the coveted 2014 "King Of The Wedge."

Pat Harris, Contest Director, has been working hard with her team to make a huge success of the Plett Wedge this year. Without Pat and the team from SABA the event would be off but luckily the organising committee has secured a 2A rated event for this year and promise that this will be a contest not to miss. Last years Double Champ, Iain Campbell, had this to say, "I am super excited for another amazing contest in Plett. I have a real love for the wave, people and area. This year I will be very excited to come up against all the top guys at one of my favourite waves on the SABA tour and will hope for success."

The contest will run over a period of two days, 7th & 8th July, with the briefing on the night of the 6th July. The venue for the briefing will be announced closer to the time as well as the prize giving on the night of the 8th July. We are happy to say that a number of sponsors have come on board to support the 20th Wedge Classic in Plett.

We are looking forward to a successful Wedge Classic 2014! If you happen to be missing out this year please follow our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/sabodyboarding) or twitter (@SABAonlinecoza#wedge2014.

Hope to see you all there.
