Hey everyone.

The last 2 weeks of my life have been insane! After the Soldiers comp, I hopped on a plane home, for the first time in almost a year! To say I missed home is a major understatement and this trip was definitly the highlight of my year so far!

I didn't do too much surfing, but when I did the boys were there for me and I have a clip courtesy of Ian Thurtell and some images courtesy of Cobus Bosman too share with you today.

Right now, im writing to you from Rio de Janerio, Brazil! After a 10 hour flight from Johannesburg, followed by a quick 1 hour connecting flight to Rio, I was met by Damian King and Lilly Pollard and a driver before heading off to meet Brazillian Turbo guy Leo Leite who has kindly let us crash at his pad in copacabana beach! After dinner at a local restaraunt we hit the sack (much to Leo's dismay who wanted to watch the soccer).

Arriving at the beach this morning, we were greeted by SICK, 3ft wedgy peaks, Who on earth said Brazil didnt have waves? It was even uncrowded!We surfed for about 2 hours with a handful of stoked locals before returning to the pad for an all time meal prepared by Leo's chef!

We went back after lunch, but were greeted by a thundering onshore and rain. The waves were still so punchy though and I would have stayed out till dark, but Damian is getting old so we bailed back in! Hope he reads that haha.

Pretty much just gonna be cruising Rio for the next few days, drinking fresh juices and eating Acai bowls. Tommorow were going to surf the 'brazillian Shark Island' which looks really fun, so I'm looking forward to that and on Saturday were doing a signing at a local surf store. Should be cool, its my first time so I'm pumped for that too!

It's pretty wild getting to see all these cool places all while riding a bodyboard. I'm loving it!

Will write again real soon, contest starts on Tuesday and were all pumped for it. Not a lot of guys came over for it, so Kingy an I are really looking for a big result to get ahead!
