yes mark, actually chirped you a little on that image of peters.
Fek man, comments are becoming the new forum. this isnt right.

Just to let everyone know, if your tyres do get let down and you are lucky enough to see the okes, the CPNP takes a very serious view on vehicle vandalism. The day it happened to us, we phoned them, gave a discription of the car, they shut the reserve down and provided me with a genny to pump my tyre back up. Scarbourgh okes are living in a different age. Way too much agro for such a little village. You wouldnt skim they were hippies.

Ja i was/am still good mates with the OG SPU boys.
Kru ur right, it included the Grant bros,Wobbe bros,Gareth Russel,Pikkie,Lee Parkinson and one or 2 other boys who I think hav since bowed out or r MIA :)

Lyall Coburn was a Glen local along with Rowan De Villiers,Spex,Burgveldt twins, Greg Frasier, myself and a host of others.
Try that sh*t at Glen or a Sea Point location and u will get humbled my friend.
The only bodyboarders who get respect from the OG Glen local standups r the one who hav surfed there for the last 13 yrs and gained it the hard way!

Put ur real name down and a face to match instead of being so wet behind ur ears mate.
Then maybe someone will pay attention to ur pussy threats.
Our community is a close nit one, dont test.

Can someone please clarify who SPU is? From my understanding the last time I heard of SPU it was the Sea Point Underground which included guys like Pikkie Goosen, Lyall Coburn, Gareth Russel, etc, and of course the newer guard of the Grant Brothers, the Wobbes, etc. And I couldn't imagine chilled guys like them would have issues and I am pretty sure when you are dealing with Muay Thai fighters like the Grant brothers they would rather tell you to your face than hide behind a lame alias on a message board. And yes, someone who can't recognise their 'local' spot doesn't really deserve the right to be called a local.

oh, but dont forget there is an SPU in sea point, but they mainly boogers, mellow okes like Schmo and Aadam and breydon

sheww busy weekend on the message board.
PeteB is correct, SPU is a bunch of wanker surfers, they just dont like sharing in any ways, in waves or in photos, i have been given shit about shooting there, my tyres were let down at platboom when i was on a mission with lamby, not even shooting their belovered platboom. Even a top international photog was given grief at UWP.

There seems to be loads of agro towards Damo.

Jared is right in all aspects of his comment.

The reserve, in my opinion, is a big place with loads of waves and, once again in my opinion, it would take donkeys years of searching for the wave shot in the last issue of sixty40. The wave WAS NOT named, the location WAS NOT given. Nor were the required wind direction or swell size. What was said is that they headed towards the reserve - who says that they surfed there. That could have been a distraction from where they really surfed.

This wave currently being argued over is no secret and as Jared says, it is the one of the most AVERAGE waves on the planet.

I have surfed it once, but been there hundreds of times when it was supposedly "going off" and in all honesty it just isn't worth the hassle of clambering over the rocks in order to paddle out.

Relax guys...nothing will remain a secret forever.

One day we'll even know who killed Kennedy - so understand that if that info will one day be declassified so to will the location of your "secret spot".

You tell one friend, they tell another, they tell their best mate and so on and so on...it might take 5 years for 50 guys to know where it is, but sooner or later hundreds know it's location purely from word of mouth and you moan if you find 10 guys there...pfffft.

It all starts and ends with YOU...share info with one mate, just one and i guarantee you that they will tell another - no matter how trust worthy you think that they are.

Stop spreading bad Karma just enjoy the water while you're still young enough to do so.

Does SPU stand for "South Peninsula Unity" by any chance? In which case are you a standup or kneelo, cos I'm a south peninsula bodyboarder and whenever I'm in the water with the "SPEW" crew I seem to get all this aggro anti-bodyboarder shyte... or have they started recruiting bodyboarders? (In my opinion it's just another gang, which may have been formed with the best of intentions but, as with any gang, eventually seems to attract the sort of thugs that like to intimidate those who aren't in the gang...)

SPU,firstly, what is your real name? The and only then, will your comments be taken seriously..
Secondly, this wave,is the definition of average and can be found in the melkbos area.If you were silly enough to think this is your wave in the reserve then quite frankly. You have no clue.
Thirdly, yes, simon is right,Damon can shoot wherever the heck he wants too:D
Fourthly,If he wants to shoot in the reserve,he will pay the R60 and do so,because he can.Its his legal right.
As far as respect for the South Penninsula goes?We cant respect those we dont know of?Come out..Then maybe we'll talk.
Note:I did not mention the wave you mistook this for once..Hence an I.Q higher than that of a stapler..More than I can say for some, just like damonb has never mentioned the name or where the location is..(SPU,you proudly announced that the wave is in the Reserve, happy hunting everyone)
Call me arrogant,Thats cool.Im right.

Im not going to get into this.. there are so many unridden reefs in the western cape its ridiculous. this spot is nowhere near cape point. after all that has gone down with the article i wrote i would be a fool to publicise anything further about the area. let alone take anyone there.

Ok this isn't funny anymore. Damon. You arn't welcome in Cape Point anymore. Watch your back! You arn't a surf photographer you are a surf paparazzo, basically an arrogant photographer with no morals or ethics. You have no respect from us south peninsula crew.
