hehehhe, DC go check out the photo Album i uploaded on FB called "The end of the world as we know it" if you want to see some artsy fartsy wannbesy atempty photography... given very dated, but toit none the less.

Just noticed this style of stuff in the forground quiet a bit lately, seen a couple of other surf photos doing it, so figured new trend.. what what what!

bwaaaha Spy! You crack me up! haha!
Nah, that was a super clean insider and way on the left of all the action... I tried the Sentinel and that was boring - no sense of scale, missioned all the way down and had all the spray blotting things out. Saturday I missioned from the harbour all the way around and still didn't get much in the way of images. You just can't see how round the barrels are - I'm sure Lambert and Clark scored some crackers from the boats though...

I kinda like the fuzzy foreground element - great for a mood shot... that's where its uses end though, establishing mood upfront, before getting down to the biz of showing the waves and riders?

is this a new trend, to get something in the way? Surf photography goes artsy? I are jelous of all you photogs that managed to get down there on Saturday, i had to be content with watching the action via the live stream from work. Am actually digging this whole live stream thing, so far this year watched the chopes contest, the figi contest, the billabong at jbay and now the red bull. Long live the nu media revolution.

Yes the Red Bull BWA 2008 did take place today and as far as i can tell was won by none other than Grant "Twiggy" Baker in solid 15 to 20 foot conditions. check out this link for the event conclusion write up...http://www.redbullbwa.com/
